Salutations to you Sirs and Madams!
Recently, we have reached a milestone in Philippine Dance Sports history! Firstly, a website serving as a portal to empower the Filipino Dance Sports Enthusiast and to strengthen his camaraderie among local and international counterparts and patrons alike. Secondly but not least; a significant event that the Philippines is to host it?s first ever ?International Open Dance Competition? in April 2004; and the ?First Manila Dance Competition? on December 2003. Spinnaker Productions, Inc. is much pleased to announce that; ?The Philippines is indeed in the map of the world when it comes to Ballroom Dancing. This branch of the performing arts have not only evolved into a class of it?s own but truly have elevated into a category surpassing the boundaries of mere Olympic sport. It?s not just the Art, Science and Athletic demands of this international competition that places it into a higher echelon! It?s also the special breed of gentlemen and ladies who traversed the extra mile to perform and display their mastery and perfection of what the layman would merely consider a weekend social and physical exercise. In a nutshell ? Linda and Antonio Lagdameo, Ricardo F. Lagdameo, Joel Ocsena and the whole SPINNAKER Productions Group believes that we truly have what it takes to be among if not to be the best of the best thus ? pursue promotions and involves itself actively in the local and international playing field or should we say ? dance hall.
SPI (Spinnaker Productions, Inc.) organized in early January 2000 and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 13, 2000 by Linda and Antonio Lagdameo, together with Ricardo F. Lagdameo and Joel Ocsena to promote among other things, ballroom dance exhibitions and competitions and invite professional dance coaches, teachers and performers to teach social and competition dances.
Its? first show was presented in February 2000 at the Savannah
Moon Dance Club, featuring Alan Shingler and Donna;
outstanding Champion Standard Dancers who have been consistent winners in the Blackpool
competitions in England and other international competitions worldwide.
Also in the same year, Spinnaker presented World Latin Champions Bryan
Watson & Carmen in another show at the Shangri-La Hotel - Makati
Balroom, with no less than, then First Lady, and now Senator Luisa ?Loi?
Pimentel Ejercito as guest of honor.
In 2001, World Champions Bryan
Watson & Carmen were again presented in a show at the Savannah Moon
Dance Club. To this date, Bryan and Carmen are still the unbeaten World
Professional Latin Champions. Meanwhile, Adam and Karen Reeve,
who are the 2003 World Professional Ten Dance Champions and who previously were
World Amateur Finalists and then Champions, have also been brought by Spinnaker
to conduct seminars and workshops for our dancers, aside from gracing the
occasions for our National Competitors they also performed in a show presented
by Spinnaker in Makati City at the Shangri-La Ballroom for the benefit of Bantay
